First 3 Quarters (Jan-Sep) Plus October Statistics




The holidays are upon us once again as the year begins to wind down. Hard to believe 2012 is nearly history. But as can be readily seen from the numbers below, 2012 has been good to Greater Austin real estate. A review of the first three quarters of this year with 2011 results, shows sales up a solid 18%, available listings down 20%, and continued gain in both average and median sold prices. And, days on the market reduced from 84 to only 69. A very significant improvement.

This positive trend continued in October with sales up an almost unreal 35% from October of the previous year. Also, comparing October of 2012 with that of 2011, average and median sold prices were up 10% and 5% respectively, inventory (active listings), was down a full 20%, and days on the market reduced by 17%.
